Summer obi. A seemingly simple but very elaborate design of a ro (gauze) fukuro obi (formal obi). The pattern is arranged with squares in a checkered pattern, and these squares are divided into a center part with a matte texture made of karaori (a type of woven fabric) and an outer silver part. The karaori in the center has a three-dimensional feel like embroidery, with different patterns for each color in gray gradation. The surrounding silver also has slightly different designs for each color in the center. Although it is a casual fukuro obi, it is well-made and of good quality. Since it uses only black, gray gradation, and silver, it does not choose the color of your kimono or accessories. Suitable for iro-muji (solid color kimono), neat komon (small patterned kimono), tsukesage (semi-formal kimono) to modern patterns, and light homongi (visiting kimono). For casual wear... you could have fun with accessories such as red, turquoise, bright pink, or yellow. Enjoy coordinating colors with accessories on iro-muji or one-tone tobi-gara komon (scattered pattern kimono). For a dressy look, you could pair it with a black-based classical pattern tsukesage, and coordinate with a white obiage (obi scarf) with red rin-dashi (a dyeing technique) and a red obijime (obi cord)... I think it would be cool and wonderful. Used twice, and has been professionally cleaned each time, in a beautiful condition with no particular problems.
