This work features music by Geinoh Yamashirogumi (led by Shoji Yamashiro), creating a unique and dense, international sound that continues to influence many people both domestically and internationally. In 2016, distribution began in ultra-high-quality high-resolution = Hypersonic High-Resolution audio (Ultra Deep Hyper High-Resolution "Symphonic Suite AKIRA 2016"), and in 2017, an analog record "Akira - Symphonic Suite (交響組曲AKIRA)" based on the Ultra Deep Hyper High-Resolution audio was released by Milan Records in the US. In 2020, more than 30 years after its production, the "AKIRA 4K Remaster Set" was released on Blu-ray, featuring a 4K remaster and a 5.1ch sound remix conducted by music director Shoji Yamashiro, and the 4K remastered version was also released in theaters. In 2022, the complete collection "OTOMO THE COMPLETE WORKS" (Kodansha), planned and produced by Katsuhiro Otomo himself, was published, and within it, the AKIRA remix audio "AKIRA REMIX" that was only played at the "Katsuhiro Otomo Complete Works AKIRA Cel Painting Exhibition" held at Ikebukuro Mixalive Tokyo and Osaka Parco Gallery in August and October 2023, was commercialized for the first time.
