Please read the profile section before commenting or applying to purchase. ◆Product Name Antique Sometsuke (Blue and White) Deep Bowl with Floral Roundels, Possibly Late Edo Period ◆Features A deep bowl with gracefully and lightly drawn floral roundels featuring wisteria, peonies, and other flowers in a smooth, flowing touch. It has an unusual shape. It's roundish, yet somewhat sturdy, and feels heavy. The upper part is shaped like a five-petaled flower, like a plum blossom. I purchased it about 25 years ago at an antique shop in Osaka, but I never used it and it's been stored away. ◆Color The base color is a very, very subtle bluish-greenish white, with a slightly matte impression and a moist glaze, and a calm indigo blue. Note: Depending on the monitor, it may appear as a rather vivid cobalt blue, but it's a calm color that is neither too dark nor too bright. It's difficult to capture the exact color in photos, and there are differences in color reproduction depending on the monitor. There will be a difference in color between the actual item and the photos. ◆Condition ・There are a few places on the outer edge where the glaze is chipped. It's hard to see in the photos, but you can feel a slight snag when you run your finger over it. (Photos 7-10) ・There is one place on the thick part of the rim where the glaze appears to have a crack. Last photo. ・There is one hole in the glaze.
