I obtained a valuable buried Yakusugi cedar and carved a horse figurine for next year's zodiac. This is a talismanic horse, with only the upper part of the horse (ma o totta = warding off evil). Onyx, a natural stone, was set in the eyes (2 pieces, 3mm). Dimensions: 36mm x 19mm ● Yakusugi Cedar Yakusugi cedar boasts a lifespan of 2,000-3,000 years, with trees over 1,000 years old being called Yakusugi. Due to the geology and climate of Yakushima, its growth is slow, resulting in dense annual rings and high resin content, making it resistant to decay. Currently, logging is prohibited, but buried wood is utilized. It is favored as a symbol of longevity. ● Onyx (Black Agate) It is said to represent unwavering faith and support the achievement of goals.
