Set of six vintage British sterling silver spoons. Made in Birmingham, England, 1936. By W.H.H (W.H. Haseler). Features three different enamel portraits of Edward VIII. The handles are inscribed "CROWNED MAY 12" 1937", commemorating the coronation of Edward VIII on May 12, 1937. However, Edward VIII abdicated to marry an American woman, and was never crowned. Considering this historical episode, wouldn't these coronation commemorative items be valuable? There is some discoloration, but it can be restored to its original shine with care. I believe this care is also part of the enjoyment of vintage spoons. Acquired at a British antique market. Comes in the original box. Hallmarks are present.
