This is an antique Oshima Tsumugi fabric woven using the very labor-intensive warikomi kasuri technique. The number of artisans who can weave warikomi kasuri is decreasing, making this a valuable item. The pattern is reminiscent of Ryukyu kasuri. It is in good condition with no stains.
