All Gerhard Richter posters are characterized by Richter's involvement in the production process, including design, size, and paper quality. The exhibition title is foil-stamped in black. Regarding Abstract Painting, the following is taken from the exhibition catalog: "The paint is pressed and stretched onto the canvas using a squeegee-like tool used in the production of silkscreens, or a window-cleaning tool. Introduced in the early 80s as an element that constitutes a painting, Richter eventually began to use a long squeegee (the artist himself calls it a 'large spatula'), sometimes spanning the vertical or horizontal width of the screen, which he made himself by combining an acrylic plate and a wooden handle (Photo 4). The movement of dragging the tool both spreads and scrapes off the paint on the screen, creating a unique situation where the characteristics of the paint as a material appear while simultaneously canceling the act of painting, and transforming it into an image that is not quite paint. This effect is particularly noticeable in the works of the early 1990s, but the basic principle continues into the abstract paintings of the 2010s." Size: 3030 cm
