This is a wonderful collection. From left to right: obsidian, igneous rock, and sanukite. These are Jomon period stone tools excavated from the same site and time. It's a set of three. They are thought to have been used as blades, but they may also have been used as ritual objects. The land where they were excavated has a volcano, and it is believed that many diverse and high-quality materials like these could be collected there.
