This is a very nostalgic karuta set from "World Masterpiece Theater's" 13th installment, "Little Women" (48 episodes), which aired in 1987. It's a nostalgic item, but since it uses hiragana and katakana, I think it can also be used for learning characters by children in lower elementary school grades or younger.
