I encountered this at an antique market about 20 years ago. It's a sometsuke (blue and white) lidded teacup. The color is a light, pale blue sometsuke, lighter than in the photos. It's a gentle color. (Photos 4 and 5 are the closest.) The bottom is thick and has some weight to it. I don't know what era it's from or what kiln it's from. Perhaps old Imari ware? Condition: I don't see any cracks or chips, but there are black spots and small pinholes. There is dirt and a small line on the white part inside the double foot ring. (Photos 8 and 9) The edge of the lid's handle is rough. The patterns also vary in thickness. The lid is slightly loose when closed. I think this is because it's old and the shapes are slightly different. I think it's in good condition for a vintage item. Size: Without the lid: 11 x 6.5 This is a vintage item.
