This is Kabazaiku, a traditional craft from Akita Prefecture. It was made by Kyotoku Seisakusho, which was selected as a "Contemporary Master Craftsman." The number of Kabazaiku artisans has drastically decreased, so I think it will become difficult to obtain these in the future. This is a set of 5 individual plates, 5 teacups, and 5 toothpicks. This item is new and unused. Although it is old, the plates are in good condition, and there are no cracks or chips. There is a single horizontal line on each of the teacups, but since they are all in the same place, I believe this is not a crack but rather due to the way the birch bark is joined (photos 9 and 10). Therefore, I will offer them in this condition. It is also rare for Kabazaiku to be water and heat resistant. The lid has 5 toothpicks attached. The outer box has some damage and stains. Please check the photos.
