CDs were developed by Sony in 1978. They were very expensive when they were first released, and I, a poor student at the time, couldn't afford them. This CD is part of an 80-CD collection of classical music titled "THE GREAT COLLECTION OF CLASSICAL MUSIC" (World Classical Music System) released by CBS Sony in 1980. I should have had the complete set, but for some reason, four CDs are missing. Therefore, I can't sell them as a complete set, so I'm selling them individually at a bargain price. Brahms' Violin Concerto is considered one of the three major violin concertos, along with those by Beethoven and Mendelssohn. Rather than highlighting the violin's technique, it feels like the music integrates with the orchestra to create a profound piece. Isaac Stern is an American violinist, and Zubin Mehta is an Indian conductor. This is their first collaboration, and it's said to be a fresh and outstanding performance. It's been about 40 years since I acquired it. The spine has some fading, and the case has some minor scratches, but the CD itself is in perfect condition.
