This is a table mat upcycled from a used, genuine silk (正絹) fukuro obi. As shown in the last photo, it was labeled "Hikihaku" and "Aoba Castle Emaki" (Picture Scroll of Aoba Castle). The design resembles a Genji Emaki (Tale of Genji picture scroll). Since it's woven without loose threads, it's suitable as a table center. There are some vertical wrinkles in one part, and fine wrinkles that look like gold cloud patterns. It's a rare obi, but offered at a reduced price.
