It appears to be Yamamomo (Japanese bayberry) that has been chrome mordanted. Recommended as material for Kumihimo braids and obijime cords, for dyeing and weaving collections, and as reference material for reproduction work. This is a portion of a large quantity that was passed down to me. I myself am mostly ignorant, so I cannot answer detailed questions about the product. Also, while it has the name of Domyo on it (or a sticker), I cannot accept claims such as "it was not made by Domyo." (I think it was probably only purchased from Domyo.)
