MN Diameter: 13cm Height: 17cm [Biography] Born April 19, 1947 Given the name "Hekizan" by Abbot Kōmyō Hōkoku of Daitoku-ji Temple, the head temple of the Rinzai sect of Daitoku-ji. Selected for the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition in 1972. Selected for the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition in 1976, and subsequently received awards and selections in various exhibitions. Held a solo exhibition at the Mitsukoshi Main Store in Nihonbashi in 1977, and subsequently held solo exhibitions in various locations. Certified as a regular member of the Japan Kogei Association. Certified as a Traditional Craftsman by the Association for the Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries in 1982. Awarded by the Kyushu Bureau of International Trade and Industry in 1999. Became an officer of the Kyushu Regional Council for Traditional Craft Industries in 2000. Assumed the position of Chairman of the Koishiwara Pottery Cooperative. Died January 1, 2006
