Repairing the buzzing sound of the valves♪ With chromatic harmonicas, the warm breath and the harmonica itself cause the valves to condense easily in cold temperatures, and many people have experienced sound blockage due to the two-layered valve structure sticking together. Carefully peeling them off can be tricky, and you don't want to break the valves... The solution is to gently insert a 0.02mm shim tape slowly and lightly, then pull it back out, and it should improve! Also great for filing♪ The width of this 0.02mm shim tape is made to perfectly match the width of the adjacent reeds. For removing debris and burrs, the 0.02mm thickness passes through the gap between the reed and the slot, removing foreign objects and eliminating the cause of sound blockage. As a measuring tool, ideally, there should be a 0.02mm gap on both sides, but even in expensive models, it's not uncommon for the reeds to be off-center from the factory. You may need to remove and reattach the reeds to improve the situation, and it's also necessary to measure by inserting a 0.02mm shim tape.
