(Photos 14, 15) - This is a Kohiki flower vase with a stone-like texture. - I think it is a relatively early work. Compared to those made today, the Kohiki is beige, and the body clearly shows the stone texture. The form is also sharp and stylish, and it is a dignified flower vase with a good seat. Takashi Hanaoka (1952-) studied under Shiro Banpo and is a popular artist who creates easy-to-use pottery with simple designs, mainly Kohiki. He also works with black glaze and yakishime (unglazed stoneware).
