I am a wood carving artist from Aomori Prefecture specializing in Eastern-style sculptures. I particularly create one-stroke carvings of horses and works featuring the Aomori Nanbu horse. In 1956, I apprenticed under Mr. Shoju Hiraga, the founder of the one-stroke carving of the Nanbu horse, and became independent in 1968 as Yamaguchi Wood Carving Crafts. My works possess a unique charm, blending traditional techniques with an Eastern sensibility.
