Removing the steaming plate allows you to easily drain pasta by simply lifting it. The steaming plate sits about 8cm from the bottom of the steamer, so it holds a good amount of water. This eliminates the need to add water mid-cooking for time-consuming steamed dishes, making it incredibly convenient.
