Replacement hooks are great because the hook on your current setup can get dull during fishing.
Sharpening them on the spot is a waste of time, so why not use replacement hooks?
Especially when fishing for red sea bream, which have hard mouths, the hook point can get dull after catching one fish,
leading to poor hooking and lost fish.
I personally replace them frequently,
and I've seen a definite increase in my catch rate since I started focusing on maintaining the hook point.
The leader length is also made longer, so it's easier to attach shrimp.
Sea Hunter Size 10 specification.
Depending on your tackle,
if your drag is set to around 1kg,
it's sufficient for catching large red sea bream, based on my experience, even during the spawning season.
As a bonus, I'm including 2 homemade shrimp fixing pins (see image 3).
Attach them by crimping them with pliers, etc., to the position where the replacement hook is attached, as shown in image 4.
You'll be surprised at how much your bites increase just by preventing the shrimp from slipping, so please give them a try.
