HOYA, founded during World War II, began producing high-quality glass in 1945, gathering skilled Edo Kiriko artisans. Recognized for its high-quality crystal, HOYA expanded into crystal tableware and chandelier production, including for overseas markets, after receiving orders from the GHQ, establishing its foundation. In 1947, the company changed its name to (Ltd.) Hoya Crystal Glass Works (HOYA GLASS WORKS). In 1984, the company changed its name to HOYA (Ltd.) and boasted the top domestic market share. In 1989, it expanded overseas, becoming HOYA CORPORATION and a popular company worldwide, but the business ended in 2009. Even now, HOYA glasses are highly popular, especially those from the GLASS WORKS era (black label) made by artisans, which often feature high design and beauty. Both the decanter and glasses have black label stickers, indicating they were manufactured during the valuable GLASS WORKS era. The glasses, reminiscent of the high-end glassmaker "Mosser," offer an extremely thin and smooth mouthfeel, while the Q-cut design on the bottom provides a beautiful design and a thick, stable feel. You can feel a pleasant weight when you hold them. The crystal, filled with transparency and brilliance, beautifully enhances any drink, such as water, whiskey, or cocktails. The amber color creates a mid-century atmosphere and blends naturally with Scandinavian-style interiors.
