For those who appreciate antiques, retro items, and vintage goods. This item was from my mother's family home, who is now past her sixtieth birthday. It's truly a product of the Showa era, and it's in the original state before being made into a futon. Taking photos was very difficult, and I think the 7th and 8th photos are the closest to the actual item. The reddish-purple fabric is for the futon cover, but there are some storage stains. The other red fabric is a set for both the futon cover and the mattress cover. The glossy appearance is due to the sizing that's been applied. It's difficult to convey the appeal through photos, but I think the vibrant red color, which was popular in the Showa era, is very gorgeous and beautiful. It still has the sizing and is crisp, but I think it will become smooth after washing. As it's now a valuable material, it would be great for those who love Showa-era interiors to make it into a futon themselves, or it could be remade into cushions or a padded kimono (dotera), which would be very stylish.
