It could be useful for small animals, or pets that are older and can't get down from high places. I keep ferrets, and I found that this hammock is more comfortable and safer than imported ones. With imported hammocks, the fleece side can get snagged by ferret claws, which can be dangerous. This one, however, is made of a material that's less likely to snag.
