It's been a while since I listened to it, but the FM reception is excellent! The jumping antenna pops right out (it's not broken). Also, when I turn on other switches, it seems to be receiving something, but I'm not sure what. It's an old item, so please understand. The visuals are cool, so I bought it new a long time ago. No instruction manual, but it comes with the original AC adapter. The FM reception is great and it works well. (Sometimes the volume gets low, but it goes back to normal after waiting 2-3 seconds. It's cute!) It also fixes itself if you adjust the tuning. The push light doesn't work. I really like it because it's very cool, but I'm in a pinch for money, so I'm selling it. It's an old item, so the silver parts around the dial have a nice vintage feel.
