【About the Shrine】 Kamukura-gu Shrine was founded in the second year of Meiji (1869) by Emperor Meiji. It was established to commemorate Prince Morinaga, also known as Ohtonomiya, the enshrined deity. Located in Kamakura, a city with many temples and shrines, it is a power spot said to offer various blessings. It is also the only shrine in Japan founded by an emperor.
