Wajima-nuri (Wajima lacquerware) by Kisa Seishi, a flat natsume (tea caddy) with a shishiko (four gentlemen) and flower circle maki-e design. Beautiful condition. Natural wood, urushi lacquer (guaranteed natural wood) This item was previously purchased, but I overlooked a small edge chip and listed it. The buyer pointed it out, and it was returned. I had the chip repaired by Wajimaya Zenjin, a shop I've done business with before. As expected, they did a perfect job, and I can't even tell where the repair was made. The natsume is in beautiful condition, though I'm unsure if it's been used or not. There are no scratches from a chashaku (tea scoop) on the inside. The design features the shishiko: bamboo, plum, chrysanthemum, and orchid. Would be a great addition to your tea ceremony utensils.
