Author Profile: Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1899. Graduated from the Department of Aesthetics and Art History, Faculty of Letters, Tokyo Imperial University. After graduating, he became an inspector at the Imperial Kyoto National Museum in September 1929. From April 1931, he served as a consultant at the Ministry of Education's Imperial Art Institute's Art Research Institute, and in 1936, he transferred to the position of curator at the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. He was appointed director of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art in September 1949 and also appointed as a professor at Osaka City University in 1950.
