This is a rare Ko-Kutani iron-glazed tokkuri (sake bottle). Auspicious motifs of the Four Gentlemen (plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum) are depicted within a circular gate, expressing wishes for good fortune. The overglaze enamel has worn off somewhat overall, which I consider to be evidence of its age. Thank you for your interest.
