Many LCD TVs have a problem where the screen goes completely black and doesn't display anything. Replacing this board may fix the problem. Please consider this a gamble. (Problem Symptoms) Sound is heard normally. Channel operation works normally. Backlight is on. Screen display is completely black or scrambled. (If the image is faintly visible, the backlight is broken, so replacing this board will not fix it.) (Repair Method) (There are high-voltage parts and components like capacitors that store electricity inside the TV, so do not touch any parts other than this board.) 1. Unplug the TV's power cord (it's best to let it discharge for a while). 2. Place a towel or something similar on a hard table to protect the TV's LCD screen from pressure or scratches. 3. Lay the TV down with the LCD screen facing down. 4. Remove the screws from the back (there are many). 5. Remove the stand. 6. Remove the silver metal cover located roughly in the center and slightly above where the stand was. 7. Disconnect the connectors on the board (silver connectors, white connectors can be pried off with a small flathead screwdriver). 8. Disconnect the connectors on the board (black connectors have a black part that opens like a door). 9. Remove the screws from the board and replace it. 10. Reconnect the connectors (making sure not to forget any wiring). 11. Replace the silver cover, stand, and back panel. This board is not sold by Toshiba.
