When you think of Xmas, you think of turkey! We are offering a significant discount on a large (27.5cm) "Turkey" plate, a symbolic work by Susie Cooper. During the Susie Cooper boom, it was priced as high as 230,000 yen (see the last photo). This work is a representative piece by Susie Cooper and is featured with photos in many books (see photos 7-9), making it a must-have motif for Susie Cooper collectors. Around 1939, it was made as one of the 12 pieces in a dinner set, mainly for export to North America. On the glossy ivory background, a large turkey is painted in the center of the plate, and the rim is decorated with a leaf pattern. The turkey symbolizes Thanksgiving and is known as the "Thanksgiving Turkey Set." This work, with its bold design typical of Susie, was very popular in the United States and Canada at the time. The main piece of that set is this large plate. Of course, it can be used daily. Although it is earthenware from about 80 years ago, there are almost no color unevenness, bumps, or black spots from the time of manufacture. Beautiful and transparent crazing can be seen, but the overall aesthetic of the work is wonderful, making it a recommended masterpiece. Looking at the book "Living with Susie Cooper," this large plate was sold for as much as "230,000 yen" at the time the book was published (1995) (see the last photo).
