This item has been in long-term storage. It is a sake cup by Miwa Kyusetsu of Hagi ware, with a matching box (with the 10th generation). The 10th generation Miwa Kyusetsu (1895-1981) succeeded Kyusetsu in 1927, and the title was passed on to the 11th generation (1910-2012) in 1967. He conducted research on the color development of white glaze, and "Kyusetsu White" is the result of joint research by the 10th and 11th generations, both of whom have been designated as Living National Treasures. This sake cup is a work by Kyusetsu, who has been designated as a Living National Treasure. Regarding this work, there was a professional comment after the listing that it was a work of the 11th generation, but since I am not an expert, I am listing it as a work of Kyusetsu. The sake cup has a deep cylindrical shape and features a thread-cut foot (unformed), which was considered unusual at the time, as it did not use the traditional foot ring. The surface is based on the reddish-brown color of Hagi ware and features a warm white glaze called "Kyusetsu White," reminiscent of spring snow. There are also cracks in the white glaze in places. Cracks are also present in the mouth of the cup. The bottom has the Kyusetsu stamp.
