The "Aoi-shi Enpu" is a picture book by Saito Shupo (pen name: Aoi Ei) depicting the scenes of men and women in the four seasons in the Shinmachi pleasure district of Osaka in the early 19th century. This depicts the scene about a hundred years after Ihara Saikaku wrote "Koshoku Ichidai Otoko (The Life of an Amorous Man)". Most of the 35 illustrations are color prints using multi-color woodblock printing, and it is considered very rare as it was made in Kamigata (Kyoto and Osaka area). Like other Nishiki-e (colored woodblock prints), it was exported to Europe and America during the turbulent Bakumatsu period (the end of the Edo period). This is a Japanese edition of the original owned by Mr. Prueber of Cologne, Germany, with a limited edition of 500 copies. I am an amateur, so I think it would be better to sell it to experts and collectors, so I am listing it. 【Condition】 No missing pages, writing, or underlining. However, as it is a used item, there may be slight yellowing, scratches, and stains, but there is no problem with reading. * No obi (paper band), with outer box (the outer box has some stains) * Please check the details in the photos.
