The crater at the summit has been eroded into a horseshoe-shaped ridge of about 3km, with the western peak called Mt. Nyoho and the eastern peak called Mt. Akanagi. The mountain's appearance is the most angular in the Nikko mountain range, which is hard to imagine from its name.
