This is a Yamanaka-nuri writing box with gold maki-e depicting a landscape. I purchased it new and stored it in a chest, but it seems to have come into contact with something, resulting in a diagonal scratch on the surface (see photo 3). Therefore, I hope you will feel free to use it casually.
