1810, England This is a beautiful plate from the Charles Bourne pottery of England, whose existence was short-lived, making it difficult to find good pieces outside of museums. The way the roses are painted is very distinctive, and this piece is undoubtedly Charles Bourne. The painting, with the enamel brushstrokes visible on each petal and leaf of the roses, and the white porcelain, is surprisingly beautiful for an English work of this period.
