This is a New Year's decoration made with new rice from ancient rice varieties, carefully cultivated by the whole family. The well-ripened rice ears were dried in the sun. The tail of the turtle is made from new rice of the "Kinumusume" variety, which received a Grade 1 rating when shipped after the rice harvest. Of course, it is delicious new rice that can also be eaten.
