I unpicked a Meisen kimono and made a long skirt. The original kimono was in very beautiful condition. (Photos 12, 13, 14) Since Meisen may fade when washed with water, I only disinfected it with a high-temperature iron. The base is a gentle salmon pink with a gray ball-like pattern. The kasuri patterns and star patterns within the ovals are very cute. The fabric has a moderate luster, and the firmness characteristic of Meisen is also lovely. Depending on the angle, it looks like it's shining orange. I put three long tucks in the front and back to reduce the volume. Although there's plenty of gathering, thanks to the tucks, the waist and hips look neat. I enjoy dressmaking specializing in straight stitching. I use old kimonos, obi, and furoshiki such as tsumugi, Meisen, and komon for remakes. Please consider this if you understand that there may be remaining threads, small holes, stains from used items, distortions, double stitching, etc. ✳︎Avoid washing as much as possible, and after wearing, hang it on a hanger to let it breathe. ✳︎Everything except the skirt is for photography purposes. ✳︎There is no lining. Please use a petticoat when wearing. Material: Seems to be silk Size Skirt length: Approximately 80cm Waist: Assuming a free size, I've inserted 2cm wide elastic.
