Please understand this beforehand. ▼ Discovering Japan: Taro Okamoto and Postwar Photography Based on his cultural anthropological perspective learned in Paris, Taro Okamoto visited various places after the war, including Japan, South Korea, and the Pacific Rim cultures of Mexico, to fundamentally re-examine Japanese culture, leaving behind many photographs. Along with introducing those photographs and his ideas, the exhibition also introduced seven artists (Ken Domon, Hiroshi Hamaya, Shomei Tomatsu, Masatoshi Naito, Hiromi Tsuchida, Shinya Fujiwara, and Kyoichi Tsuzuki) who re-examined Japan from their own unique perspectives.
