African Amber Antique Necklace This is an antique necklace with large amber beads. Size: Amber beads (21) Approximately 2-3 cm in diameter x 1.3-2.3 cm thick Wooden beads (22) Approximately 1.2 cm in diameter and thickness Total length of the bead section: Approximately 60 cm The metal parts are silver. This was purchased by my grandmother over 40 years ago when she went to Egypt. African amber is made of resin and is not genuine amber, but it seems to be becoming increasingly rare and valuable nowadays. Although it has large amber beads, it is very light and easy to wear as an accessory. There are some areas where air bubbles have become small holes or dents (see photos 8-10), but as this is an old antique necklace, I hope you will enjoy it as part of its character.
