This is a very valuable book that covers fortifications, which are remnants of war from the late Edo period to the Showa period, found throughout Japan, including the lesser-known Tokyo Bay Fortifications, Shinagawa Daiba, and Maizuru Fortifications. It also includes a nationwide database and map of fortifications. With abundant and beautiful photographs and color illustrations, this book has high documentary value. As it is an old book, there are minor scratches and scuffs on the cover and obi (book band), but it was purchased at a bookstore and has been stored without ever opening the pages. Therefore, I believe it to be a rare book that can be described as being in beautiful condition.
