Hanging Scroll ★ Naosai Uenaka's Treasure Ship (宝船) ★ Antique, Re-mounted ◆ About Naosai Uenaka Naosai Uenaka (Uenaka Naosai) 1885-1977 A Japanese painter of the Meiji and Showa periods, he studied under Naoki Fukada and Gahō Hashimoto. He also studied the Nichiren sect doctrines under Chigaku Tanaka. He entered the studio of Shunkyō Yamamoto in Taisho 2 (1913) and exhibited Buddhist paintings at the Bunten and Teiten exhibitions.
