◇About the Makers◇ Made by a father with approximately 25 years of experience in crafting and teaching shinobue and kagura-bue in the Iwami region of Shimane Prefecture, and his daughter who carries on the tradition. Each flute is handcrafted. The material used is female bamboo that grows naturally in the Shizuma River basin. The bamboo is carefully selected after being naturally dried for over three years, and then undergoes a burning process to finish the flute. ◇Introduction◇ This item is a kagura-bue, a flute used in the ancient scales of kagura music. It can be used not only for kagura, but also for yosakoi, folk songs, and hayashi (festival music) flutes.
