The ribbing (cuffs, collar) is made of sweatshirt-like material, and the rest is denim material. There is one thread fray on the ribbing at the waist. *See photos (it doesn't seem to be a problem to cut it, but it's not very noticeable, so I've left it as is.) The metal parts (buttons) are not rusty, and the ribbing and denim parts are in good condition, with no deterioration or stains, even though they are used. I bought it used a few years ago and ended up never wearing it, so it's been stored in a dark place. There's a slight used clothing smell from back then, but if you're used to used clothing (that used clothing store smell), or if you're concerned, you can have it cleaned yourself.
