Born as a premature baby weighing 500g, she lost her sight due to retinopathy of prematurity. However, under her mother's policy of "educating her the same way as children who can see," she grew up strong. In 1997, she entered the junior high school of Fukuoka Prefectural Fukuoka School for the Blind (now Fukuoka Prefectural Fukuoka Special Support School for the Visually Impaired). She won the Kyushu Regional School for the Blind Speech Contest in 1998 and the National School for the Blind Speech Contest in 1999.
