The "Greco EGC-550 Black" is an electric guitar mainly manufactured and sold from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. At that time, Greco was in the "Mint Collection" era, known for its high-quality copy models, and this EGC-550 was positioned as a model that emphasized cost performance. The model number "EGC" indicates a Les Paul Custom type. Many of these guitars were manufactured in Korean factories to reduce costs. While most of the higher-end domestic Mint Collection models of the time used rosewood fingerboards, the EGC-550 featured a unique ebonol fingerboard, made of resin. This ebonol fingerboard is highly durable and has an appearance similar to ebony. The diamond inlays and binding on the headstock closely resemble those of the original Les Paul Custom. Therefore, it is a popular model in the used market.
