It has a natural, British feel! Perhaps it evokes the image of the Lake District in summer (^^) Current Cottage Garden items are made in China, but these are older, made in England. The colors, texture, and feel are all subtly different. (There are two types of backstamps depending on the purchase date.) These were used for table coordination photography. After that, they were carefully stored in a cabinet. There are no noticeable scratches or stains. (Please forgive any slight scratches due to storage or aging.)
