This is a Royal Pet sea lion from Senshukai. It was sold in the 1960s and 70s by Senshukai, a subscription service where a different type of animal was sent each month. Each one was handmade by a kokeshi craftsman. It seems to have been made with inspiration from Scandinavian design. The material is cherry wood. You will be healed by its beautiful texture and cute expression. I have been displaying it in my room, but I am selling it to declutter.
