This is a hand-sewn item made by a relative who is a master of traditional Japanese clothing. I have had them make the same item for me, and it is incredibly light and warm. The wide sleeves allow me to wear it over my pajamas, and I often fall asleep in it. I believe the filling is silk wadding.
