This is an early model Musicman Stingray EX, made between 1997 and 1998. Many exceptional instruments were made during this period. Modifications include a pickup and preamp change (Aguilar OPB3), and the volume knob can be pushed/pulled to switch between active and passive modes. The volume imbalance on the 1st string has been eliminated, allowing for a wider range of sound creation. Furthermore, this instrument resonates exceptionally well, producing a fantastic sound even in passive mode. The sound is thick. Weight is approximately 4.2kg, with a good neck and electronics.
