This is a natsume (tea caddy) I inherited from my grandmother. I was told it's from Hida. It seems it came in a box, but I disposed of the box when I moved from Hyogo to Sapporo. It was in a beautiful paulownia wood box. I remember the box had "natsume" written on it, and also had a name. My grandparents' family home was in Hida, so there were many products made from natural Hida wood in the house! I don't know the details, but it's a treasured item passed down from my grandmother, and I'm honestly torn. However, I feel a little sad that it wouldn't be fulfilling its purpose as a tea utensil if it stayed with me, so my true wish is to revive it by using it for matcha and the tea ceremony. I will pack it carefully and ship it via Yu-Pack! I hope it finds a good home.
